Can I refer your pet name BHARATU PANDU instead of Bharat Pandya. If you like Its fine, if not than Gujju is not pet name for Gujarati!!!

Madarasi is name of language.
Babu mosai – is a respectful word & not funny word.
Saradarji is respectful name of particular religion(Sing).
Bhou is Brother again a respectful word.
So why not Gujrat na friends ne Gujaratibhai (respectful word) & not Gujju(funny word).
તમે શીખ ને સરદારજી કહો, મરાઠી ને ઘાટી કહો,દક્શીણ ના લોકો ને મદ્રાસી કહો , યુપી ના લોકો ને ભેઇયા કહો તે ચાલે પણ તમને કોઇ ગુજ્જુ કહે તો ઉકળી પડો.
આ તે કેવો ન્યાય !

Arvind bhai, I am 100% agree with you. Whenever, I see the word ‘gujju’, I always email the person to not to use this word & use ‘Gujarati’. I think we all should do because ‘ united we stand divide we fall ‘
ઘરડા થઇએ એટલે હસવાનું બંધ નહી કરવાનું, વધારવાનું- ન હસવાથી જલ્દી ઘરડા થવાય છે !

જો આપણે પોતે જ આપણાં માટે ગુજુ જેવા તોછ્ડા અને આપણી જ જાતના લોકોને ઉતારી પાડતા શબ્દો વાપરતા થશું તો અન્યો પાસેથી કેવીરીતે માન કે આદરની અપેક્ષા રાખી શક્શું ? શું આપણે આપણી જાતને આટલી હલકી ગણવા કે ગણાવવા તૈયાર છીએ ? ના નહિ જ ગુજુ જેવો શબ્દ આપણને શોભા નથી જ દેતો અને જે કોઈ આવા શબ્દો પ્રયોજે તેમણે પણ આવું નહિ કરવા સમજાવવા જ રહ્યા.શક્ય છે કે આવા શબ્દો અજાણતા જ અને તદન નિર્દોષ ભાવે જ વપરાયા હોય ! તેમ છતાં એક વાત તો સ્પષ્ટ જ છે કે ગુજુ શબ્દ ગુજરાતીઓને ઉતારી પાડવા વપરાતો બીન ગુજરાતીઓ વાપરી રહ્યા છે ત્યારે આપણે સૌ ગુજરાતીઓને જો આપણાં માટે જ ગૌરવ નહિ હોય તો બધાજ ટાપલી મારતા રહેશે ! મને વિશ્વાસ છે કે ગુજરાતી માત્ર આ લાગણી યોગ્ય પરિપ્રેક્ષ્યમાં સમજ્શે !

hu pan gujrat ni bahar 20 varas ni umar thi bahar rahu chu. mane pan loko ne kem man apva te sanskar aapla che. ame ahi tamilnadu frends ne prem thi madrashi ,bangal na loko ne babu mosai,panjab na loko ne sardarji ,marathi loko ne bhou(brother) kahiye chiye.
kem apne gujrat ma panipuri vara ne bhaiya nathi kaheta ken te khotu lagade che ? kara ke tyere tamaro bhav alag hoi che.

શબ્દો કરતાં એની પાછળની ભાવના વધુ મહત્વની છે. છતાં કેટલાક શબ્દો સંવેદનશીલ હોય છે. ક્યારેક કોઈ ભુલથી કે ઉત્સાહમાં આવી જઈને એવા શબ્દો બોલી નાખે ત્યારે કેટલીક અવ્યવસ્થા આપણા પોત (ટેક્ષ્ચર) ને અસર કરી જાય છે. ખાસ કરીને ગુજરાતની બહાર રહેનારાંઓને આવા શબ્દો ખુંચે તે સહજ છે.
બને ત્યાં સુધી આવા શબ્દોથી સાચવી લેવું.
ભાઇ મંથન,
પ્રેમમાં અને યુધ્ધમાં કંઇ ખોટું હોતું નથી.
પ્રેમ એટલે પ્રેમ એટલે પ્રેમ.
પણ મોટાભાગે આ શબ્દ તીરસ્કારવાચક જ છે.
દા.ત. તોફાન કરતા બાળકને મા ઘણીવાર ‘ ગુંડા, બદમાશ, લુચ્ચા’ કહેતીજ હોય છે ને? પણ આ શબ્દો સામાન્ય પરીપ્રેક્ષ્યમાં તીરસ્કાર વાચક જ છે ને?
આ ચર્ચામાં, મહેન્દ્રભાઇ વડગામા કોણ છે તે અમે જાણતા નથી કે તે પણ અમને નથી જાણતા. સાવ અજાણી વ્યક્તી માટે આ શબ્દ આપણે ક્ષણીક ભાવાવેશમાં આવીને પણ અભાન રીતે બોલી નાખીએ તે વીવેકનો ભંગ થયો કહેવાય.
મારા માનવા પ્રમાણે નેટ ઉપરની આ આચારસંહીતા છે, અને તે પાળવામાં બધાનું માન જળવાશે.
